First and foremost, I guess I have to apologize about the lack of writing. Life happens. The new job is a killer on my free time and my mind is more focused on becoming a licensed engineer rather than a writer for free. It’s a shame that entertainers can’t entertain due to the shitty pay scale for writers, comedians and actors.
A quick update on what I have been doing…I just had a weekend at Joker’s Wild Comedy Club in New Haven, CT with George Gallo and Terry McNeely. It was awesome, as per usual with those guys. I have some things coming up. The schedule will be updated.
After the jump, I’ll have some memes that my friend Stephen Parrillo made of my comedy. Also, I will have some show posters that are coming up in the next few weeks.
I replied to a casting call for a television show. It’s about the NYC dating scene. They asked me to send in a video describing myself. They wanted me to super bubbly and excited for 15 minutes. I sent them 8 minutes of this. I think I covered all the non-negotiables. I know it’s long but I think you’ll enjoy it.
What’s up, internet? I’ve been a busy little Hughbear. Spreading the H(ugh)IV
virus love-drug. The other day I almost got arrested for doing comedy. That’s always fun. Making fun of cops is always a bad idea, it doesn’t matter about the whole “holding a microphone” part.
I’ve been performing like a machine. Make sure to check the “Upcoming Events” tab up top for full information on live comedy shows. I have also been updating Get Involved Comedy with tons of posts so you can find all of the best spots for laughter in the Tri-State area.
I have been featured on another website. EntertainMeLongIsland. Check it out!
Another project that I was on is my friend Rich’s podcast called My Take Radio. He had me on his “Behind the Mic” segment and we had a lot of fun. We talked for like 3 hours but he edited it down. Don’t worry. Even two talented guys like us can’t be entertaining for that long!
Lastly, Yonkers area be on the look for some radio time. My hetero life partner Mike Keegan and I will be joining a show to promote my gig on the 26th in Orange, NJ. It’s at a place called The Southern Comfort Cafe. Mike will be performing in the comedy contest portion of the show and I will be featuring on part of the “Boy I Gotcha Comedy Show.”
vaya con dios,
I am usually the king of fights with women. Fist fights, verbal arguments…I win them all. However, I have been off of my game as of late. Those hussies stomped me out at the bar the other day and lately I have been feeling like I lose every argument. Why is that? I’m a wordsmith and a verbal assassin, God dammit. Why do I feel like I’m losing every fight? I’ll tell you why. Because I am getting away from Bill Burr’s brilliant bit. Alliteration aside, this is the secret to arguing with women. Listen up.
Sometimes I just need to find the golden information and not constantly spit it at you. Other people can do it for me.
For the ladies…
I have been collecting tons of ideas for posts during my mental staycation, I couldn’t write anything during this hiatus. My mind just wasn’t with me and I don’t like to force things. I figured I would start with something cute that I saw with a tip of my fedora to my friends that are comics. They might enjoy this.
Apparently, eHarmony came out with a list of 15 reasons why a woman should date a comedian. Then comedian Nick Youssef did an awesome job breaking down the list of 15. I’m just going to add my own opinion to other people’s work once again because this is what the internet is all about, no? Sorry, Al Gore.
Article after the jump.
This is exactly why I do what I do.
Here is a radio show that I did with my friends Brian Cohen and Keith Godwin. I have done only one show with Brian for a fundraiser but Keith and I have done some comedy shows at Drug Rehab Clinics and Sober Houses for people in Recovery so we talked about that and my journey through my own recovery process. This was only their second episode but it is definitely worth a listen. We also talk about this blog and some other stuff. Definitely worth a listen.
Dan Barry, Bill Morales, Anthony DiDomenico and Myself podcasting.
Here is a radio appearance I did with my friends. They are also stand up comedians named Anthony DiDomenico and Bill Morales. Their podcast, Organized Chaos, has been one of Long Island’s best podcasts for Stand Up Comics. It’s episode 58 which was my 4th appearance (as I slowly catch up to leader Dan Barry (professional wrestler/comic) and Dennis Rooney). Dan and I were the most listened to guests, so they invited us both into the “Friend Zone Mics” for a power ratings boost. The show was hilarious. We talk about Dan Barry’s sex with a midget, my drug habit, professional wrestling and a ventriloquist that finds me sexy. Click the link below to listen.
