I liked my meditation post so much that I’m going to do something similar with this post. This is more like “Music Therapy”. Instead of meditating, try listening to this song for what it is. Don’t worry about the music type. If it isn’t your thing, just deal with it. Have an open mind for once in your stupid, pointless life. What else do you have to do? Spend hours on buzzfeed or worldstarhiphop?
Lyrics after the jump:
The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die- Getting Sodas
The band is a little “screamo” but check it out. Turn the volume all the way up, especially at the 3 minute mark. Try to listen to the lyrics as best as you can because I was blown away when I read them. It is a VERY deep song.
I’m sorry if you are just looking for dating advice or my thoughts on things. I know it is random but this blog is morphing more into a self-reflection and moral observation blog rather than simply just dating advice. I’m trying to unlock minds and inspire, not just talk about picking up chicks. My ultimate goal is to create something that will last forever.
(from plyrics dot com)
We are the walls in formless shapes.
The overbearing weight.
This house weighs heavy on my mind.
Erasing tapes, undocumented faiths.
Took down your pictures and your belongings.
In boxes buried under the soil, in the yard behind our tree, you’ll wait.
Wrote tiny poems through the lines of my hands.
Little birds flew by me.
The wind’s been calling your name south in pursuit of foreign lands.
Can’t go back. Where’s your tact?
Where’s your grace? Where are the things you replace?
Are our words more than sound?
We cut the air and we’ve found to lose your faith in the world is to lose faith in yourself.
We are ghosts in your homes.
We travel under the floor.
And when our voices fail us we will find new ways to sing.
When our bodies fail we’ll find joy in the peace that it brings.
The world is a beautiful place but we have to make it that way.
Whenever you find home we’ll make it more than just a shelter.
And if everyone belongs there it will hold us all together.
If you’re afraid to die, then so am I.
That last verse is what really hit home with me. The breaking down and building up of a person’s mind or personality from scratch. The perseverance and gratitude of just being where you are at while knowing it could always be worse.
“The world is a beautiful place but we have to make it that way.” That line is my favorite from the song. It’s beautiful and perfect. What I took from it is that your situation can always be worse and you have to find a way to help yourself because your life is perfect the way it is, you just have to realize it. Everyone is born perfect. It’s your own thoughts, behaviors and emotions that corrupt us. All of those things we can control. They are the ONLY things we can control.
Also, what are you doing to make your life beautiful? Take charge. One of my favorite quotes is “God moves mountains, but bring a shovel.” I know my atheist friends are probably laughing. I remember when I was an atheist. 1999 was a good year. I think Fred Durst was still relevant.
I hope you enjoyed this song as much as I do. Come back tomorrow for posts back on topic.
